The Young People of Nicaragua

I photographed this pensive young woman in Nicaragua.  She sold jewelery in the Parque Colon in Granada.
Judging by her young age, she was born after all the troubles of Nicaragua.  Will Nicaragua tourism bring a bright future full of hope to the young generation of Nicaragua?  Will the “trickle down” effect hold true?
There is currently a high unemployment rate in Nicaragua and it is one of the poorest countries in Central America.  Tourism is one of its biggest industries.  However, everywhere I went, I did not see many tourists.  It …

The City of Granada Nicaragua

The beautiful city of Granada in Nicaragua is one of the oldest cities in the Americas and is well known for its lovingly restored Colonial architecture. The city was settled in 1524 by the Spanish and still has many of the original buildings reflecting its rich Spanish history.
